Check wjhether there are really no restore points. Open an elevated command prompt and run this command:

vssadmin list shadows

Make sure you look at the ones from C. If you like, you can copy the output in command prompt here and we'll have a look at it.

Right click on the command prompt window and click on 'select all. Then right click anywhere on the hihjlighted area. That puts everything on the clipboard and you can paste it into your answer here.

Please follow the instruction by whs in post #11.

Could you also let us know how many hard drives you have connected and how many partitions you have.
My thinking is the restore points are not on the (C) drive/partitions.
This would be helpful.

System Restore is Not Saving Restore Points
I've neglected this problem for too long and I would like to get it resolved. My sys restore is not saving ANY restore points, except for the very last one that is an auto one created by Win7. If I manually create one, it will appear in the list for the time being, but if I shut down or restart...

Windows 7 - System Restore, Saving a Backup & Permanant Restore Point

System Restore not saving automatic points
Can't believe that a program that was released over 4 years ago has still got so many things wrong with it. If I can make a manual restore point and windows updates create a restore point then why oh why is it so hard for an automatic restore point to be created. Never had this problem with XP...

System Restore isn't creating (or saving?) restore points properly
For some reason my System Restore function isn't automatically creating (or isn't showing) System Restore points as it should be doing for "major" system events (e.g., isn't automatically creating restore points before/after Windows Updates and software/driver updates). I'm not sure if it isn't...
