Backup Failure--Failure in creating a directory on backup storage dir.

Hi all. If it ain't one thing, it's another.

I do a "create system image" on my three Windows 7 computers each Sunday. Ususally there are no problems but today I get the attached message on one computer.

I saw a suggestion to disable my antivirus program so I tried that with the same results. All 3 computers use the same AV program and they did not see that message.

Can any of you folks get me headed in the right direction so I can get out of this mess? I have attached a screen capture of the error message plus a graphic of the system spec.

Backup goes on an external 500G backup drive.

    Thanks

I have found Acronis Trueimage to be the easiest and most user-friendly.

If you purchase a Seagate, WD or Maxtor, you can get the Acronis Trueimage software (free) and make an image of your OS and

put it on your external hdd. Don't forget to click "verify" in options.

If you need to recover your OS ( including programs, updates, etc) you can do it with a few clicks.

You can also use Easeus for free and any hdd will work.

Also, make a boot CD -you can start the program from Start Menu, but in case of a catastrophic failure and you can't boot, the CD will open your saved image and you will recover your OS in minutes.

    Seagate - DiscWizard | Seagate

    WD - WD Support

Easeus - EASEUS Todo Backup Free 6.1 Download for Windows / FileHorse.com

Here's a link (page 2) with pics to guide you.

    Thanks for the information.

I am presently using the backup program built into Windows 7. Perhaps I should look around.

Tried it again and got a slightly different message.

Give Acronis or Easeus a shot.
    You will be pleasantly surprised.

No, Golden, I have only used the Windows 7 backup program. I will try all the suggestions I get and see which one I like the best.

So far, I have gotten error message when I try to enter my email when I fill in my vitals for Easus.

I just downloaded EaseUS from MajorGeeks and I will try the others when I can.

    Many thanks

Well here are the EaseUS backup results. I wanted it to go to the External drive so I will have to correct it.

Takes longer but time is not that critical.

    At least NO ERROR MESSAGES.

    I'll give it another try.
