Cloned HP_Recovery partition wont boot

I may have some good news for you.

It is possible that when you run the Recovery form the HP_Recovery partition, that it MAY re create the tools partition too.

I am not sure, but I do know that running HP recovery DOES re create the System folder, and I think it has re created the Tools too..but can't be sure.

When I did my restore..I created a system partition of 100mb not 300...but after the restore, System was back to 300 again.
I think i also made HP_Tools smaller too, 3.5gb...but after recovery, it was back to 5gb again.

So try the restore without HP_Tools..it may work

Hi I have tried with the Easybcd method to selecting additional WinPE and directed path to Winre.wim /file from HP_Recovery and saved. I found there are two boot file entries 1. Windows 7 2. NST WinRE entry and rebooted. On reboot there is only Windows 7 appeared i tried many times but not succeeded. Windows boots up normally.. is there i need to change drive type like Active,/ dynamic- mine is dynamic NTFS HP_Recov

I am no expert either..I can only tell you what worked for me.

I have read something about Dynamic partitions not working..so may be you will need to change the type from Dynamic..to what ever the other type is called....??? static?

Or maybe it does require the Tools partition to work ???

maybe there is a torrent available with the tools partition?

From my very limited understanding that first picture very likely shows the problem
5 Dynamic partitions

From what I have read HP_Revovery does not like Dynamic volumes
You will need to backup all your My Documents
Then DELETE ALL 5 dynamic and re create just 4 Primary partitions:
300mb system
120 Gb for Windows
17 for Recovery
5 for tools

This will leave big space at end for AFTER
Restore recovery wim to recovery partition
Restore tools wim to tools partition
Set recovery as active ... And see if it works... Mine did not but you may be lucky

There are ways using extended partitions and logical drives to re create your My Data partition.
That could be done after you have a working system again with the Tools Partition and the empty space at the end. But just get working system for now.

I see no problem in staying here, but I am new here like you are.
It is very similar problem

Just copy all your data off. or fit another HDD and copy My Docs to that.

I suggest you post a Disk management screenshot (full screen). Dynamic disks are not desirable. Your partitions should ideally be primary with maybe one extended with logical drives within.
I'm guessing you may have exceeded the 4 primary partition limit and set your HDD as dynamic.
