Windows XP backup with Live One Care

I don't know if this is the place to ask, but I have some old Windows Live One Care backup discs that I could never get Live One Care to open because it wouldn't install on my XP computer, but if anybody has any ideas on where to look for information, I would appreciate it.

Windows Live One Care has been superseded by Microsoft Security Essentials, so it is probably a waste of time trying to use it as there are no new updates. You can download Microsoft Security Essentials free from Microsoft & install it.

Refer to this website for more info. Windows Live OneCare - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

    Hope this helps.

    Windows Live One Care

The reason I am looking for a way to decipher a Windows Live One Care backup is that I lost some files in a computer crash and some of them are on Windows Live One Care backup discs that I can't access now. I don't think Microsoft Security Essentials would address those. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Have a look at this website which may help you recover those files. There is a lot of info on the site so read through it to find ones on One Care, that seem to apply to your problem.

    Hope you get lucky.
