    Restore Previous Version of C:

    Hello,

I'm trying to use the "Previous Versions" feature to restore my entire hard drive back to a previous state. I was working on a project which is now completed but it left my system in a funky state. In the "Previous Versions" tab on C:'s properties page I can see the restore which I'd like to use. But for all of the copies the "Restore" button is disabled.

I'm assuming that it is disabled because there are files in use on the C: drive so it can't do a restore. Is there a way to do a restore of the entire C drive?

I tried looking at some specific folders on the drive (C:\Users\Default User\Downloads) and it looks like the restore function would work there... so based on that and some other things I read online I came to the conclusion above.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

    Cheers,
    Ben

Hello Ben, and welcome to Seven Forums.

"Previous Versions" is for restoring older versions of files and folders, and not drives.
To restore the entire C: drive, you would need to have created a system image to be able to do a System Image Recovery of C:.

If you like, you could also do a System Restore of Windows with a restore point.

    Hope this helps, :)
