I want to give you one last piece of information. The way that chkdsk works is that it moves the bad clusters, so they are no longer used. Chkdsk can only move so many clusters. If your hard drive begin to have the problem on a constant basis, after a while the procedure will no longer work. At that point I would get a new hard drive, regardless of age.

    You can use
Download Center - Crystal Dew World
to keep an eye on reallocated sector count. If it climbs even over just a few months I'd dump the drive.
I use the portable version with no OpendCandy.

I downloaded crystal disk info and ran the program. I attach 2 screen shots and the only difference between HD 0 and HD 1 is in C5 and C6 The raw value has a 1 at the end, and it is yellow. Any comments on what that means?

    Thanks

Your report is very close to mine. Caution is the important notation. Your Hard Drive may be a problem in the future. I would RMA, since it is new. Try for a replacement while it is still under warranty
Uncorrectable sector count is important. You probably shut down incorrectly etc and there is permanent damge which cannot be repaired, using the method that I gave you.
