So are you saying it doesn't see your external drive?

    Is it plugged in?

    Alright try this

    1. Press [Windows], enter [diskmgmt.msc] and hit [enter] to open the Disk Management interface in Windows

    2. Now You can see all the hard drives and partitions of the computer system.

    3. Select the partition which don,t have the Drive Letter.

    4. Right Click on that Drive and Select “Change Drive Letter and Paths”

    5. Now click the Add button and assign a drive letter to the partition.

6.After this your Missing Drive is Visible in Your Windows 7 Computer.

    hope this helps

    1) Win7 backup will want to allocate ~30% of the target drive space for backup. Does that drive have sufficient space?

    2) If the target drive is locked by BitLocker, it will not appear as a target.
If the drive is locked, Unlock it, configure and perform a backup, then lock the drive.

    3) Also, Win7 will backup to a second internal drive, not to a partition on the same drive as the OS.

I don't have any problem saving a backup image to a different partition on the same HD.
