Toshiba Black Screen, No cursor, no boot = Giant Brick

Hoping y'all can help me out. I have a Toshiba Satellite L455-S5975 (everything is stock except for extra RAM). When I start it, it simply goes to a black screen and stays there. It does not load the Toshiba screen, the windows screen, or anything else. Just black, No cursor.

This has happened in the past and I've fixed it before. I would unplug it and pull the battery for 24-48 hours and it would boot and I could launch in safe mode then do a system restore to before the update. Doesn't work this time. It seems to do this is an automatic windows update runs and then it restarts the computer. I didn't think that I let it run the update, but it's showing the same black screen that it has in the past when the update ran.

I created a repair disc on another windows 7 computer, but it was 64bit. Not sure if that matters. Put it in drive, turned toshiba on and got the same screen.

I downloaded Hiren's BootCD, burned it to a CD, inserted in drive and turned on toshiba. Same screen.

What else can I do at this point? I definitely don't want to take it to the Geek Squad, but I don't know what my other options are. Reading through the forums, I know you guys are seriously smart on computers - help me computer badasses, you're my only hope!

I've had this problem before. Just hold down 0 before you start it, then when it gets to the cursor screen, turn the computer off, still holding 0. Turn it back on again, and it should go to the Factory Reset screen. Simply exit out of the window and... Tada! Fixed.

    Edit:

    Solved?
