Hello --
I am sending my old computer to my sister, and have re-installed the original [licensed] Windows 7 from the DVD.
I want her to have a backup / install disc in case she needs it for system repair in the future. However, I do not want to send my original Windows 7 DVD.
What is the best way to copy the Windows 7 DVD? Do I need to copy it onto a dual layer DVD, or will a standard DVD work?

A standard 4.7 GB dvd is fine.
You just can`t copy it, it won`t be bootable. (If I`m wrong someone correct me, then give your own instructions)
You have to create an image file from your dvd, then burn that image to the blank dvd.
Put your dvd in the drive, right click on it and choose create image from CD\DVD.
Save the image to the desktop so you know exactly where it is.
But (most important) install IsoRecorder before you start any of this.

You then use a burning program to burn the image to the dvd.
Personally I use PowerIso, but it`s not free.
Windows has a built in disc burner, but I`ve never tried it, I will test it now. Windows built in image burner seems to have worked perfectly, I am using the burned disc to install windows on my experiment pc
So, you simply put your blank dvd in the drive, then right click on the iso file, then choose open with and click on windows disc image burner.
