    There is nothing wrong creating a restore point any time you like - in addition to those that are created by the system. With your 10GB of shadowstorage, you have room for appr. 15 restore points. After that it is first in, first out and it reuses the space.

    You can check on restore points (shadows) with an elevated command prompt if you run this command:

    vssadmin list shadows

    And if you want to see how your shadowstorage is being used, this command

    vssadmin list shadowstorage
