    Backups Not showing up?

I have my computer set to backup every night to a secondary built in hard drive in my laptop.
When I manage the space it shows the date of about 4 backups I keep at a time.

When I setup the Windows 7 backup, I select a image of the C:\ hard drive and all it's files.

The issue is when I go to do a system restore from the backups it only gives me the most current backup to choose from? None of the other Backups that show up under manage backups with their time and date are shown as options to choose from.

I have never had good luck with system restore working so I don't use it.

Is there a way to have all my backups available to choose from when I do a advance system restore? I check the box to show other backups available but I still only have one to choose from and it's the most recent. If I want to go back 3 days or so I am unable to do so.

    Thank You

Rocket could I suggest this to you I use it all the time and do a regular back up on a weekly basis but you can set it any frequency you like. The Widows restore system I agree it leaves a lot t be desired but handy for latst ditch stuff.
    Imaging with free Macrium

If you ever lose stuff I might suggest you use Recuva if you cannot find lost files / data
Recuva - Download < download from piriform and if you get really stuck specially if the drive has died or dying is my little ditty -

    BOOTABLEUBUNTU

    Makea bootable Ubuntu disk http://www.ubuntu.com/download

Setthe BIOS to boot from the optical when the machine boots it will show you ascreen with TRY or INSTALL > select TRY

Whenit is finished - it takes very little time you will get a screen like in thepic .

Openthe drive you want > User and dig down until you get to the data / settingsyou may be able to copy / paste the material you want to an external source orother installed drive doing this.

Iam not sure if it will but I have recovered tons of data etc using this methodboth on "dead" or just plain drives that you cannot get data fromusing Windows.

    Thanks for the reply!

I do a weekly backup to a external hard drive. After reading your reply I start thinking I was causing this by either limiting or turning off the system restore on the target E:\ Drive? It never occurred to me that setting was effecting my number of backups. So that has seemed to work but I'm not sure which harddrive needs the setting and percentage increased. I do allot of testing and tweaking so being able to go back a couple days is what I'm looking for. I can always go back a week with the external backup.

So, do I need the system restore on the data and backup drives or just increase the percentage of it on the target backup E:\ Hard Drive?

Thanks for helping me figure this out !
