Macrium Reflect'sdisk image file size
Why are the disk image files created by Macrium Reflect so small?
Mine is 11.7G and the hard disk size is 23.4G and when I made the disk image Reflect was set to medium compression.

Using the recommended default compression, my images run at around 40% of the originals, Never had a problem restoring.
I don't have any problems thank you but I was wondering if this compression is normal and at what compression do we get the maximum restore speed ?
Dunno. I just used the recommended default setting and assumed Macrium knew the best setting. It works for me and I believe in "don't fix what ain't broke!".
Yes it's normal.
I've never encountered anyone who used anything other than default (medium) compression.
You could conduct your own experiments to determine the effect of compression level on restore time.
With medium compression, I can make an image of my C drive in 6 minutes. I rarely restore, so I don't recall exact restoration time, but it's minimal--under a half hour. Maybe under 15 minutes. I don't remember.
Restoration time is not a typical concern because it is rarely done. The more common concern is the storage space occupied by images, although even that isn't likely to matter in this era of large drives unless you are keeping many images. I don't think many Macrium users keep more than a few images around. I keep 2 or 3.
