Making a New Factory reset image

I was on my laptop and noticed i could create a new factory reset image. Thus from this i created a new factory image on my laptop that allowed me the hassle free time from re installing so many programs. Thus i tried to do this on my desktop and i don't even remember how to make a new factory image.

My question being how do i remake a new factory reset image of my current computers being of state.

    Both run windows 7 -64bit

"Factory reset". "Factory image". Hmmmm.......not entirely sure what you mean by those terms.

If you create an image of what you have now and later restore it, you'll end up with what you have now-----not as the PC was from the factory.

If you mean restoring to the state the PC was in when it left the factory, you'd need to use an OEM-provided recovery partition or a set of recovery disks made via a program placed on your PC by the manufacturer. Neither of those methods will restore your PC to its current state.

If you want to make an image of the current state, you could use Windows built-in backup capability or a third party tool such as Macrium. Most here would advise the latter.
