Problem with Start Up Repair, Win 7 Home

A friends grandkids was playing with her Toshiba laptop. Now when she turns it on the screen says, Start-up Repair, and she can't do anymore with it. She does not have a Win 7 dvd.
Any ideas on how to get past this screen and log into the laptop?

    Thank you for your help.

If you can download Minitool Partition Wizard on another computer and burn to a disk (possibly USB thumb drive) you could boot to that and try to repair the Master Boot Record. This has been a frequent savior for me and the tool is widely respected on these fora.

You can also d/l a free copy on Windows 7 to repair with - it will just expire: Brink's Tutorial.
