OS not booting. Partition preventing

I just installed a new SSD and before formatting, it created a system partition that i was unable to delete. I was able to correctly get the new SSD formatted, Now I receive the message "An operating system wasnt found. try disconnecting....."

I tried selecting the drive and partition from disklist and that didnt help. I also inserted the Win7 recovery disk and that was unable to fix the problem.

My boot disk is an mSata Intel 120gb (OS Drive). Disk management showed there being 2 partitions being system, one being the actual system, and the other being the partition that was created from the new SSD storage drive. It shows 350gb... basically a ghost drive that i wasn't able to delete after formatting the new drive.

Can I make the correct partition active so I can boot again correctly?

Hard to understand how a new SSD could "create a system partition" without somebody issuing commands of some type.

Post a screenshot of this Windows Disk Management you refer to.

For some reason the new ssd did not allow me to format until i gave it a drive letter. Its a 480gb drive. Once I gave it the drive letter, it showed only 350gb available. I then was able to format it correctly and us it as a storage drive. Once that was done, the 350gb it showed earlier was now an active system partition along with my mSata 128gb. I made it inactive and the 128gb active, once i restarted i cant find the boot drive now. I was still unable to delete it as a partition.

I didnt actively make any new partitions, that I know of. I was just formatting the drive

The 350gb partition was on the same "DISK 0" line as my boot drive

Do 2 things:

Post a screen shot of Windows Disk Management.

Provide the brand and model number of all drives in this machine.

As far as I know, partitions must be formatted BEFORE they can be given a drive letter. So confusion reigns until you provide more info, such as the screen shot.

Which of those 3 is supposedly your Windows drive?

The other 2 are for storage only?

Which is the "new drive"?

The 120GB Intel 525 Series mSATA is my Windows OS Drive. The Crucial 480 M500 is the new drive(Storage), and the other Intel 480GB is storage as well

I was able to fix the boot issue, I accidentally made one of the partitions inactive. But I still have an issue with the partitions. There is a 350mb partition that I'm not sure is needed....

Yes, you need the small 350 mb partition because it is marked "system". That's where your boot files are. You can see that 46 mb of it is used.

Everything else looks OK.

Thank you for the help! I had to use Diskpart to fix the inactive partition.
