Are there disadvantages to doing System Restore in safe mode?
I understand that doing it from safe mode is NOT reversible; however I have later restore points than the one I plan on trying so it seems that I would NOT be completely stuck with whatever happens from the restore, right??
Need for restore is:
I had started thread on my situation and only rcvd partial advice, so am going to do Windows created System Restore. I have been setting up new Desktop Win 7 pro 64 bit, and had attempted to redirect APPDATA subfolders to a different internal drive. This redirect was only partially successful; in using Windows built-in button to restore locations to default several thousand APPDATA files were deleted. The computer runs and I can use Internet. I have recovered most of the files with RECUVA software, however it seems that trying a restore point is my best option - my only question is whether it is preferable to do the restore in Safe Mode.
Thanks
