    Empty folders after backup

After a recent hard disc failure and replacement, I have copied all of my backed up data from a Seagate external hard drive to my desktop.
All went well but all of the folders shown are empty.
My Computer shows C Drive as having 632Gb of 931Gb free so I am sure my backup data is there somewhere.

    Any thoughts?

Can you locate and find your data files on the external? Or did you move them rather than copy them to the new drive? I'm just trying to confirm that the data was ever actually on the external.

What method or application did you use to backup the data from the failing drive to the external Seagate? Drag and drop? Imaging? Windows Backup?

Download and run the above application on the new drive. It will tell you what is using the 299 GB occupied on the new drive.

found them, not where they should have been but to me that's OK. as long as they are available.

    Thanks all.
