How do I access my backup - Need to restore!
Okay - it finally happened. I lost my 1TB data drive. My boot drive is still okay and I have an external backup drive. Here's my problem:
I have Acronis True Image 2012 but decided to switch back to Windows Backup and Restore a few months ago. Also, I replaced my boot HDD with a SSD a couple of months ago. I didn't go back and reconfigure my backup utilities assuming (as we frequently do) that it is insurance that never would be needed.
Now I have lost my data storage drive. I never remapped my storage system so I think that my files are somewhere on my backup drive, but I don't know how to access them. In Windows Explorer I can see the backup drive and there are bunches of files there. The most recent batch is Feb 1 2015. But I can'e find my Win BU/restore program. When I go to Control Panel\System and Security\Backup and Restore It has only the Acronis True Image 2012 and a message "No Backups. Your Data cannot be recovered".
Obviously my data has been backed up in a file dated 2/1/2015. See my screenshot. But I can't find the windows program in Control Panel or anywhere else to access the data. I can reinstall ATI if needed.
How do I recover my files and save to a new HDD?
Thanks
