How to clone a Windows OS partition with all the files, including temp

Hi all! I have got a 256 GB SSD and wish to use it for my OS and essential software (100 GB + 150 GB, C and D drives, in place of 50 and 150 GB in my current disk). I tried cloning my current 50 GB C drive on a 2 TB Seagate HDD using Acronis TrueImage Home Free and FarStone Drive Clone Free. Both copy the partition but leave out many files (temp files) even though I choose the appropriate options when I am asked to include or exclude temp files. (I would rather delete the temp files manually after cloning.) Is there a way or tool to clone the partition exactly as it is, temp files and all?

You could try imaging rather than cloning, although I'm not positive cloning would include temp files. I'd guess that it does.

Macrium Reflect Free Edition might do a better job than Acronis and Farstone. Never heard of Farstone.

Is the D drive intended for data only? Is that all the data you have or do you have another standard HDD for data, in addition to D?

I'd also go with the Macrium reflect imaging option. Partition your destination SSD then do the drag and drop image restore shown here:

Alignment should be ok with the drag & drop but check. See the check here

Thank you, mjf. Will try out the various options in the weekend.
