How to transfer system from SSD to HDD

I have purchased a upgraded laptop that will arrive soon, so i want to move my ssd from this laptop to my new one, but don't need/want this windows on it, i want to move it to the normal hdd i also have installed on this pc. how can i transfer the entire system from my new ssd to my old hdd? Im doing this because i'm selling my old computer so it still needs to be working/bootable. the computer did not come with a windows disc. I'm not very good at the technical side of computers yet lol so any help would be appreciated.

I would just clone it to the HDD. Free Macrium or free AOMEI Backupper can do that. AOMEI is a bit easier to use.

Hello and welcome T Moz mate I am a little confused but assuming you want to put the new OS onto your existing SSD . Now to do that you need to save all the data from it and then wipe it before you clone the new machine's drive to it.

To then put in a drive on the old machine you will need to get another edition of 7 or whatever and install it on to the old machines drive. If you have access to a Windows DVD then there is a work around using the old activation code see the tutorial in this forum but if you are not real confident it can testing - if not then you will either have to sell it as is or install a new edition (OEM) edition as I said.
The tutorial is listed in tutorials and is written by a member named Gregrocker - Clean install just type that in the search bar at the top of the site page tutorial section when it opens.
Sorry to be a little vague but I am on my S Pad right now.

thanks for the responses, but the cloning to the hdd sounds like the right path for me.

okay i hope i have it set up right, just waiting for the new laptop to come in( its been in production forever) but now i remembered i enabled some AHCI Mode on my computer to use with this ssd, since im putting this pc back on a hdd, do i need to disable AHCI mode, or does it matter?

You will have to change a RegKey. This tutorial will show you how:
