Windows 7: VSSADMIN errors during Aomei backup

05 May 2015   #11

Windows 7 x64 SP1

If we were dealing with system files / and actual operating system then I hazard to say we would be in a bit of a mess...

However if it is just data and not system files then no it would be fine... Though there may well be a security conflict on the files and folders after reinstating the data image. That is easily rectified though.

One thing I did neglect to ask is I am assuming you are not dealing with an actual operating system backup here ?

Dual boot - Win 7 Pro 64-bit and Win 10 Pro 64-bit

Andyrids - the whole thing - total backup and restore - OS, data, all. To be able to restore in an hour when the whole hard drive blows up.

I'm not in a position to reproduce that so can't really say.. on a serious note though I did read an article a while back where they were testing exactly what you had to do to a HDD to ensure even forensics could not recover the data the only result that I recall was incineration and even after that something like 30% of the data was still recoverable.
