How do I make bootable media which includes TestDisk?
I have TestDisk files ready to load onto a DVD and a USB stick; mostly for use on Windows 7 NTFS HDs.
How do I create a bootable DVD and a bootable USB stick that will have TestDisk ready to go to work?

First create a MS-DOS bootable pendrive with Rufus. https://rufus.akeo.ie/

(In "Create a bootable disk using" select MS-DOS from the dropdown arrow)

Download Dos/Win9x version of Test Disk TestDisk Download - CGSecurity

Extract the downloaded zip file. You will get a testdisk-7.0 folder in which you will see all the TestDisk files (exactly twelve). Select all files and copy those to the bootable MS-DOS pendrive you just created using Rufus.

Now boot from the USB pendrive. DOS will be loaded and you will see a C:> prompt. Type testdisk.exe and press enter to run TestDisk.

(Against the Command prompt type photorec.exe and press Enter to run PhotoRec.)

( My time zone has shifted back to India. Got to go to bed now.)

Thanks jumanji! Taking all of this home, can't do much "on the fly." :)
