    System Restore points disappear

About 2 months ago my System Restore points started disappearing. They no longer create new restore points automatically, and whenever I create them manually, they last a day or 2 and then disappear, like they've been deleted. I Never had any problems with SR in the past, and as far as I know, I don't have any self-check or cleaning programs running. I have tried every suggested check or repair solution, but nothing repairs my problem. Does this sound familiar to anyone? Please help if you can. I am desperate! Thank you.
ps - the only Antivirus prog I am using is AdAware and have never had an issue with it in the past. I used to run Malwarebytes and MS Security Essentials but disabled them when this problem started.

AdAware is not an AV, and disabling MBAM/MSE permanently was not wise.

I would enable/update and scan with both.

How is your System Restore set?

run cmd (elevated): vssadmin list shadowstorage
    paste the result

    run regedit:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\SystemRestore - on the right pane check if there is RPLifeInterval (in Windows 7 there shouldn't be)

See if this is relevant - Defragmenter programs can delete System Restore Points

Ad-Aware is now an anti-virus product.
I wouldn't run 2 realtime anti-virus programs at the same time such as Ad-Aware and MSE.

David, thanks for correcting me, haven't used Ad-Aware for some time. When I said both, I did mean MBAM/MSE, of course wouldn't advise 2 AVs.

    You're welcome.
Someone else posted that info about Ad-Aware a while ago, i too was surprised to learn it became an AV.
