Restore windows 7 system image to a 2nd partition and dual boot.

Hi guys, my hd is gone. It was on a notebook. Thanks god I had a image system backup few days ago.

Now... I'd like to dual boot that system on my desktop running Windows 7 and dual boot them.

So can I reduce the size of my desktop hd, and then restore the system image from my laptop to that partition?

How can I dual boot them?

    THank you

Follow this tutorial Dual Boot Installation with Windows 7 and XP except in your case it is another Win7 install instead of XP.

You do need to remember to name them something different so you'll know which one you're booting into, and when the time comes which one you're deleting.

In this case you'll need to make another partition on your disk first, since I haven't done this particular operation before you may need to use a third party program such as Partition Wizard Best Free Partition Manager for Windows | MiniTool Partition Free or Macrium, it's another good tool, both are free.
