Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit

Any PE version will work on most, if not all, PC because each are basically a stand alone OS that runs independently of the OS installed on the machine. I use 5.0, which is based of Win 8.x on my win 7 machines and it works just fine. Prior to that, I was using 3.0 which also worked fine.

You are correct that images have the correct drivers aleady embedded. The only time you need the drivers that get installed separately on the rescue media is when restoring and image to dissimilar hardware, such as after installing a new MOBO.

Creating a back up image
I am creating a back up image onto a 250gb external hard drive. All is going OK but it is taking a long time. It has been going now for 2 hours and is only at 44% complete. It is an older Ext HD so may not be that fast. Does this sound reasonable?
