Macrium Reflect serious problem on the second restore run
Hello,
After reading a few recommendations for drive imaging software on this forum, I installed Macrium Reflect 6.1, free edition. I made an image of my Samsung SSD 840 system drive onto my 1TB regular drive. The image was of a clean Win 7 install + software I use every day. I then created a rescue usb disk, installed some extra software on my SSD drive and did a test restore of the image back onto SSD drive and that seemed to go without a hitch.
Now I am thinking that Macrium and my image work fine, I proceed to install Autodesk Inventor onto my SSD drive but then discover that Inventor interferes with another program previously installed (Sandboxie) so I decide to revert back to my clean image. I boot from rescue USB, choose image to restore and click finish. To my horror, an error pops how Macrium encountered serious error and needs to close and that I should email dump file to the developers.
How is this possible? I already restored from the image not even 24 hours prior to the error. The image verifies fine in Macrium. I also have run parity check on the image and it is the same it was the moment it was created (I created par files right after I created the image). The hard drives are the same drives with same partitions as they were when the restore job worked. I even created another USB rescue disk thinking that the original might be corrupted but that didn't help. I emailed dump file and details about the problem to Macrium support but have received auto reply that I am out of luck with free edition.
The only thing that comes to my mind is that somehow when I did 1st restore, Macrium messed partitions on my SSD somehow preventing further restorations. But then Win 7 boots fine so I am not sure.
Anyone has any idea?I am including a snapshot of my partitions.
Thanks!
