    Deleted my Restore Points!!!

My laptop was taking about 8-9 minutes to restart and it took forever to close down and various other uglys.

I got in an deleted all my old restore points and now it takes about 1 minute to restart

I had researched all sorts of things to speed up the shutdown, googled 'takes to long to restart', tons of stuff and thats what did it.

Id recommend creating a restore point now, and why I dont know, then create another one, and delete all you old ones if you have such an issue.

I've never had a problem like you list, and I NEVER delete any restore points.

@chewtah. The reason for your slow starts might have been due to the amount of disc space that was allocated to System Restores. There is a slider you can use in System Protection in the Configure window that allows you to set the amount of disc space allocated to system restores.

You can adjust that to any setting, but you need to keep in mind that having a very small allocation will not keep many restore points.
