Can't restore system image..
I made two system images last month and as I have been having weeks of BSODs and freezing up issues that I have now spent enough hours fruitlessly trying to resolve, I decided to restore my O/S from the images. One was with the native Win7 tool, one with Macrium Reflect.
I tried the Macrium image first, but even though I can browse OK within the .mrimg file (on another partition on my PC) and it verifies OK, Macrium says it cannot load the image when I try to restore from it (which I do via a Macrium bootable CD). Why not?? What was the point of creating it?
With the native Windows image, after rebooting I get to the various restore windows, but the option 'select this to delete any existing partitions..' is greyed out. There is an option to install drivers.. but what drivers? I am asked for the media containing the drivers for my hard drives (two Samsung 850 EVO SSDs). I have no such disc. The drivers are native to Windows, surely??
Scuppered at all turns. Even trying to correct my BSODs and system errors errors by using the system image is fraught with yet more errors and frustrations!! (SFC ran with no issues BTW).
What do I do now then? Take up golf instead, and ditch all my PCs perhaps.
Many thanks!
