    How to backup this?


    Due to my system gradually getting slower and slower I thought I get myself an SSD drive to speed it up a bit. Now the problem is how to move my existing system onto the new drive. My OS is on a 300GB HD where over 200GB is free. The SDD is 240GB so cloning wouldn't work. Another thing is that most of my programs are installed on a separate partition on a separate physical drive. The Documents folder is also elsewhere on a separate drive. Ideally if I could somehow make an image of my C partition straight to the new drive. Can someone suggest best way to deal with that?

    You can create a Macrium Reflect (free) backup image of the HD and restore it to the new SSD.
    Macrium Reflect Free
    You need to drag n drop the backup image to the new SSD (partition) so it will re-size as needed.
    You will also need to check the SSD alignment.
