Windows 7 not genuine build 7601 causing problems

I booted up my computer, and saw in the bottom right hand corner of the screen it said Windows 7 not genuine error 7601. I was unable to open any applications except google chrome, and battle.net. it says i am not connected to any network and i am limited in my use of the internet. i can google questions, but i cannot play videos. when i click on an application, the process will show but the app wont run. i try to run it as administrator but that doesnt work either. i tried running my computer in safe mode with command prompt and from there i was able to run chkdsk /r which got rid of the not genuine build 7601 error but i still cant open any applications. i tried looking for the installed updates, but the updates wont show and are stuck loading. i tried restoring my system but there were no restore points. i tried using ms fix it but when i open the file it just loads and the windows installer pops up and says preparing to install and stay like that. i am unable to run command prompt as administrator or anything as administrator. i cannot create a shortcut to my desktop and elevate it to use as administrator either. nothing seems to be working

    Hi there,
    sounds like malware to me,
suggest you run an Eset online scan,
then download and run malwarebytes free, untick trial, ENABLE rootkit detection in dasboard settings

If not malware, it might be a problematic installation of a certain Windows Update. I had to rollback to a week-old full OS image to correct it. However, if you do not have current restorable backups on external media, there are others here who can give you the geek steps to bring back your Windows into genuine status.

    Still not working

i tried running an Eset scan online but i had to download an extension because i was running chrome. i downloaded it and the program stopped working once i ran it. i cant go back and check the updates because when i try and load the previous updates the explorer freezes before they all load. would taking my computer to a geek squad be the best option?

I just now noticed this. Dunno, heard many great things about Geek Squad, and heard only a few things not so great.
