i formatted my hard drive on my dell latitude e6430 and i thought i had it were it wouldn't format the recovery partition...but it did and now i can't recover the image for the clean install...
does anyone have a cd or know where i can get one at..i tried dell and they had me on hold just for 10 minutes saying they were looking for correct department and i ended up hanging up...
on dell's website i put in my service tag number and it don't even tell me if the install image disk is available.
it just says my computer is out of warranty....

Welcome to the forum. Did you actually format the recovery as it would be hidden download free bootable partition software boot that and see if it's still there if so set it as active so it will boot to recovery. If it is gone partition recovery software may get it back

The "Hidden" partition would not have been touched. The "recovery" partition, that is just a partition of the operational "C" drive would have been formatted.

Here is a link to the Dell "reimage guide" for this model. From the guide, it appears you must have a Windows install disc and also install drivers in a prescribed procedure. Thus there would be no actual recovery partition as there are on older "consumer" line Dells.

thank u both for the replies..i formatted the "c" drive. i have a windows 7 install disk. i posted this question on another forum and a person gave me this link to download the image recovery for the system..

Freeware Files.com - Free Download Page for Microsoft Windows ISO Download Tool 3.1.5

it's just regular 7 it looks like, but that's ok cause i'm gonna try to upgrade to 8.1..
can i just install 8 from this link or do i have to upgrad after installing 7..
when i restart the computer it says the bootmgr missing and i should press ctrl alt delete. i loaded my windows 7 disk i have and selected repair computer...it don't have any system on it so i'm guessing that's why it didn't work.

recovery image is what i need

You can't repair Windows since its no longer there as you formatted the drive.
You will have to do a new install and according to the Dell document I linked, there is a specific sequence that needs to be followed.

As far as Win 8.1. If you have an "upgrade" disc to install then you will have to first install Win 7.

They have all version on the OEM Windows.

By calling, they will not provide.
You need to go to the Service center and request from them.
Unless it is very far from you.

I did went to the Toshiba service center, and the staff have to check the label under the laptop.
Just let me make a copy, and have to do it there.

Eric3742, there is NO Dell service center in the US. There may be in your country, but not in the US.
