Using the "Exclude Disks" Option in system image restore??!

I have a computer that is dual booted with windows 7 and windows 10. My windows 7 operating system is very slow and malfunctioning. But I have an old system image backup when my windows was healthy and fast. So I want to restore Windows 7 from this image. But I don't want to format and damage Windows 10 that I installed recently. So here is my question: I saw an option to exclude disks for not restoring or formatting specific disks from restoring. So will this option work for bootable disks so that my windows 10 drive remains unchanged? Can anyone answer me if anyoneknow or has done this restore before? Thank you.:)

It should be OK but it depends were the boot files are on the partition or system partition

Thank you samurai, what do you mean by that? Because I have my system boot files on the same drive and all windows 10 boot files on another drive. So I really don't understand what you mean.
