Hard Disk Converted to GPT format

I have DELL inspiron 5558 With windwos 8.1 and upgraded to windows 10.

Recently i wanted windows 7 and for that i shrink my E drive and from DVD tried to install Windows 7 on that 50 GB unallocated space. But it was showing me that you cant install OS on Windows Cannot be Installed to Disk 0 Partition 7.

I have followed the solution on internet and step in it. Used Dispart command On SHIFT + F10 on Boot screen. and first

Selected the Disk and Then Cleaned it. Then i converted it to GPT using convert gpt and then exit

They suddenly i realized that it is showing me 931 Gb unallocated space. So for DATA sake i stopped right their and done nothing further that point.

Please if anybody have solution to it... Please suggest me and I want my data back from those partitions before conversion. Help me!

We need to first understand your problem more clearly.

You now have a DELL Inspiron Laptop which you have upgraded to Windows 10. I presume your problem has nothing to do with that laptop. Am I right?

Your specs state that you have a desktop with Windows 7. Is it still working?

If you already have a Windows 7 machine, where do you want install Windows 7 now?

You said E drive. Where is that E drive? In which machine?

Please post a screenshot of Windows Disk Management showing that E drive which you manipulated.

In the same laptop I want to dual boot it but new drive that i want should have low space like 50GB
So to creat new drive i shrink E drive in my laptop I had C, D,E drives
I shrink 50GB space from E drive and allocatr it to creat new drive and I want to install windows 7 in it not in desktop

Normally it goes well...but during installtion means after using bootable usb of windows 7 os i t shows error that
Windows cannot be installed on disk 0
I searched for solution of this problem and found that disparr will work and conversion from mbr to gpt will solve problem for me and after i will able to install windows 7 os on newly created 50GB drive

But dispart clean followed by convert to gpt
Format my whole hdd not only that new 50 GB drive and created 930 GB unallocated drive

I cannt take SC because there is no OS
Its unallocated space of 930 GB

So i want my data from c,d,e drives

OMG! I could never imagine you could have done all that on your working Dell Laptop and muck it up !!!!!!

Before I even attempt to figure out what best could be done, I would like to gather more information.

"I have followed the solution on internet" Can you point me to the solution you followed, for me to read? That will let me know what exactly you did for I find the information you have given inconsistent.

Now we have to find out the real state of your HDD inside the laptop.

Download the Partition Wizard Bootable CD Free Edition version 9.1 ISO ( 32 bit or 64 bit as per your system OS that was on your laptop) from Free download Magic Partition Manager Software, partition magic alternative, free partition magic, partition magic Windows 7 and server partition software - Partition Wizard Online

Download Rufus from Rufus - Create bootable USB drives the easy way

Use that PW ISO and create a bootable PW pen drive with Rufus. ( Note: The pendrive should be empty.Backup any data on it elsewhere before using Rufus on it)
Boot your PC from that pendrive using onetime boot menu and run Partition Wizard.

It will show your disk.

Take a snapshot using your mobile or any other camera and post the screenshot.

Note: My effort will only be to check if data is recoverable. It may or may not be possible to restore your laptop and run the OS as before. It will be for other experts to look into to advise you on that and not in my domain.

Yeah Admit it but for now my Problem is solved

After searching for 3 days Found out Runtime Get Data Back software(shareware) to retrive its back
Used it in trial version and 99.99% data was intact since i have not created partitions of that un allocated space. Find myself lucky in this situation.

If anyone want my help for this recovery steps contact me anf thanks to guys like you who share their skills and knowledge across whole internet to make these problems and their solutions so easy....

Of course Getdataback Simple is one good program which we recommend as a last resort when free programs have failed. The trial version can only show your files but not copy unless you buy a licence for $80. Are you going to buy it?

And how did you run it? Your system was not bootable. Or you have used their Knoppix-Based Runtime Live CD - Experimental ?

I mentioned accessing your drive with Partition Wizard. Once you are able to see your drive the next step would have been to run the Partition Recovery Wizard. If it was able to show all your partitions,you could double click on the shown partitions and check whether it shows your files.Then It could have written the partition table . The MBR also could be rebuilt with Partition Wizard . If your drive becomes bootable again you could straightaway access the files. This is the procedure we normally recommend when users accidentally run diskpart clean on an external drive.You complicated the matter saying that you converted into GPT and also formatted it. Lots of inconsistencies in defining your problem. That is why I wanted to see your drive with Partition Wizard to see whether it had become a GPT drive and whether it has been formatted or still remains unallocated/Raw..

The other problem with your drive was it is a boot drive. Even if original partition table has been rewritten you cannot see the drive unless it boots. If it does not boot, then we could have booted with TestDisk for DOS and copied the files to another drive.

Though it is an exercise, there is no need to spend $70/80.

Yes, I want to know step by step procedure you adopted including how you got GetDataback and how you ran it on your nonbootable drive. :). Please post it.

OK, leaving aside how you got GetDataback

, I can't but appreciate your resourcefulness in creating a WinPE pendrive with AOMEI WinPE builder Create Bootable USB or CD/DVD based on Windows PE with AOMEI PE Builder , adding Getdataback as a tool in it and booting into Windows Environment with that WinPE pendrive.

But then again I would say you goofed - took an extra unneeded step. There was no need to add Getdataback as a tool into the WinPE you created. AOMEI PE Builder WinPE already has AOMEI Partition Assistant Standard in it and you could have run the Partition Recovery Wizard in it (much as in MiniTools Partition Wizard) and it would have found the partitions and rewritten the partition table that was deleted by the diskpart clean.. With that you could straightaway access all your files in the drive in the Win PE and could have copied all your data files connecting an external drive. ( If only you had told me that you are creating a WinPE with AOMEI , I would have told you to run the Partition Recovery Wizard in it.)

Instead of touching your nose straightaway, you took your hand around your head and touched it.:)

In any case, well done. Self help is the best help.
