    1st image?

    Hi,

Can one install Macrium using IE 8, after installing a fresh windows, offline update packages, and after activating online?

Is it safe to use IE at that time and can Reflect run without framework updates?

    Thanks.

    Edit:

Aim is to create 1st backup, even before searching online for updates, which are approx less than 50, for W7.

At that point, there is nothing to backup in the system, it's sort of pointless to create an image that early. Everything you have in the installation is contained in the Windows installer, the updates are in the "offline package" you've got and the activation relies only in the serial. Restoring to that point is only a matter of running all the installers.

That said, downloading an imaging program using the obsolete IE8 is definitely possible (albeit insecure, it's better to have it among the other installers you used). About Macrium in particular, I have no idea of the exact requirements, so I can't answer the question exactly.
Possibly other members can reply to that (it has a lot of advertisement on this site).

I've been using Macrium Reflect for some time now, both free and pay-for. It will do very well what it is designed to do.
