system recovery points

I tried to do a system restore---and only 1 point to chose from. I install and unstall a lot of programs , I thought there would be more choices than just midnight last night. How do I set this to save ponts more often--or manually?

  • Create a restore point
Right-click the Start button, then select Control Panel > System and Maintenance > System.
  1. In the left pane, select System protection.
  2. Select the System Protection tab, and then select Create.
  3. In the System Protection dialog box, type a description, and then select Create.
Make System Restore Use Less Drive Space in Windows 7

  • Remove all but the last System Restore point.
Click 'Start' / All Programs /Accessories / System Tools / Disk Cleanup / Click the 'OK' button.
After cleanup finishes its calculations, down in the lower left click on 'Clean up system files' vand click 'OK'.
Now click on the 'More Options' tab and in the box named 'System Restore and Shadow Copies' click 'Clean Up'.
This will remove all but the last 'Restore Point'.

Hello doghasflees, and welcome to Seven Forums.

You could set the maximum space for system protection to be larger for the drive to be able to keep more restore points saved on the drive.
