According to this article, there is a fix...but comes with a caveat. I can't even understand the directions. What do you think about its content?

Good afternoon, Is there a way I can disable creating a restore point please? The reason for this is to speed up a clean install prior to imaging. What I do first is to clean install the OS, then run all the updates, make changes to the system so it is how I want it, then install programs...

i remember back then it wouldnt be good to keep restore points as it could make viruses linger, or just was not reliable is that still the case? or is it worth making restore points?
