Will my storage drive be wiped during factory reset?

    Hi all,
I hope this is the right spot for my question...
My desktop is operating poorly and I haven't been able to track down the issue(s) causing it so I would like to restore to factory specs. My current drive setup is as follows:

    Drive 1:

    • D: Factory Image
    • C: Primary Partition

    Drive 2:

    • J: Storage/backup

These are 2 separate drives, each with its own connection to the motherboard. Will the storage drive (J:) be excluded from the recovery process?

It should be but, to be safe, you should disconnect the drive before restoring. Also, if you don't already, you should have at least two sets of backups for each drive: one set kept onsite and one offsite.

    Thanks for the quick response

I do keep a 1TB portable as a spare backup. I'll be sure to update it before I proceed.
