Macrium on safe mode, can't seem to get it to install/run

    Hello all,
My laptop is failing and will only run on safe mode, I'm trying to save data before it dies and I tried installing macrium with no success. Does ant any one know if macrium runs on safe mode and will have I be able to make an image. This is my first time using macrium.

    Cheers.

You can boot this media. Aomei Backupper (free version) is included. You can make an image with that if your hard drive is still functional enough.

Thank you, I will try it. I have a question, I have an external hard drive where I can back up the image, does the external hdd need to be formatted for the image? The hdd to be imaged is 225gb, the external hdd is 1 tb. I have other data in that external drive that I don't want to delete. Also, I have another desktop that I need to image for back up. Will one image delete the info on the drive? Should I set partitions instead? Also, can I partition a drive that has data?

Sorry for the many questions, I have no experience with imagining:-/

It is boot media. Create bootable ufd from it with rufus.

The image you create will be a large file. You can store it anywhere you can store any other type of file.
If you already using your external HD, it must already be initialized and formatted, so just store the image file exactly like any other type of file.

Will one image delete the info on the drive?
    No, it is a file.

Also, can I partition a drive that has data?
    Yes.
