Repair registry of one user from another
Hi,
I've made a newbie mistake and make changes to registry from one of the users of my desktop (Windows 7) without making a backup first. Basically the change was adding to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies a new keys for DisallowRun and DisableRun (following this article - How to Block (or Allow) Certain Applications for Users in Windows ), thought that if I just close the window without saving anything no harm will be done. Unfortunately I was wrong and the changes did took effect...
Now if I logged in from the user I did the changes from, all apps are disabled including the regedit.exe itself!
If I login to the other admin user on that machine, I can open any app, but I do want recover the other user as some apps are registered to it specifically.
Is there any way I can recover from this mess for the first user? By the way, the system recovery is disabled as well so I cannot run it from the user that has the problem. Maybe it can work from the other user, but I don't to make things worst before making sure I know what I'm doing
Any help will be highly appreciated!
