System recovery catch 22

I could not recover from a previous problem so I did a clean install and am trying to restore from a backup image. After booting to the Windows Seven disk and after getting to the part where you select the image I get an error about using BIOS when the image is EFI (not sure of the exact message as I am further in my attempt to recover). So I go into setup and change from BIOS to UEFI, but now when I boot to the Windows Seven disk and select repair I am told that "This version of System Recovery Options is not compatible with the version of Windows you are trying to repair. Try using a recovery disc that is compatible with this version of Windows.". I had this problem before and remember not being able to find a compatible recovery disc. Unfortunately, I also do not remember the solution I eventually found and do not feel like banging my head against this problem again, which is why I am here. This is for the HP desktop in my profile. Let me know if you need any other information.

TLDR: Recovery image says change BIOS to UEFI. After changing to UEFI Recovery says not compatible.

UEFI requires a FAT partition to boot.

Is there any Legacy option available?
What if you select this one?

Maybe this will provide some assistance

Booting the installation media from the UEFI boot option and proceeding to install from there, then allowed me to restore from my image. Thanks for your help.

I have found on my system, that if your recovery or backup is in either MBR or UEIF your bios must match. MBR to MBR or UEIf to UEIf.
You can't have a backup or recover method mismatch with the bios.

Example:
MBR recovery method on a UEIF system is a NO NO.
A recovery Macrium Reflect disk must match the (UEIf or MBR) or it will not work.
At least on my systems.
