Good to hear from you kind gentlemen. It seems that Macrium Reflect is the one to look at, I mentioned Acronis because I had heard of it, no other reason. I've ordered two new drives, external and internal, both 2tb, so they should last me. I looked on several forums before coming here, but they all seemed to be too technical, you people explained it in plain speak, great. I will look at the videos, Layback Bear, thanks for the idea. As I said, the computer shops over here in France just seem to want to sell new machines, not look at old ones, more profit I suppose. When, not if, I get it all sorted out I will let you know how it went, so thanks again for all your help, everyone.
