I think I want to clone my LapTop T60

HI:
I have used my ThinkPad T 60 for many years and it still works.
But now I own a Toshiba 'Sattelite', and I want to move everything from the ThinkPad to the
Sattelite. The Sattelite has a much bigger and wider screen.
Since the ThinkPad uses an Intel CPU, I installed Windows 7 x86 on it at that time.
The Toshiba on the other hand has a brand new HDD with nothing on it.
And since it has an AMD CPU, it would be nice to have as the OS, the 64 bit version of
Windows 7.
Memory on the Toshiba is 16Gb large.
Since I'm basically an educated User, I thought, perhaps, I would Clone everything on the ThinkPad
and move it to the Toshiba. But then a little voice inside my head said to me that it just might not
be that easy.
It's true that the OSs are both Windows 7. But the one installed in the ThinkPad is an x86 version,
and the one that I would like installed in the Toshiba would be the 64 bit version!
Has anybody else had such a crazy idea, taken this route before on the Forum?
Or should I think about using another method, instead of cloning?

If you clone everything from the Thinkpad to the Satellite, you will end up with an x86 installation. In order to move from 32 to 64 bit, you need to do a fresh install of all of your programs. You can move the data (docs, pics, videos, etc...) but the programs will need to be freshly installed, especially if you wish to have 64 but versions of your favorite programs.

A clone is unlikely to work going from Intel to and all the drivers would be wrong and then it won't activate as it's been activated before on another pc

I have Installed Win 7 64 bit on the HDD in the Toshiba.
But now I'm up against another problem.
The Drivers that connect the Laptop to the outside world are not installed.
So I have no Internet connection, and the Flash Stick that has a Toshiba
Driver Pack on it, does not show up under Disk Management.
Does anybody have any Ideas on how to get around this 'wall'?

Check on the Toshiba website to see if they have Win 7 64 bit drivers for your laptop. If not, then you will need to see if you can find the drivers from the various chipset mfrs websites.

Is the USB stick 3.0 or something like that? maybe you could try using a USB 2.0 USB stick. You may need to go into the Toshiba BIOS and turn on Legacy USB support.

Go on another computer and find the Windows 7-64 network driver for your laptop. Once you have installed the network driver, you can then go on the Toshiba website and get the rest of the drivers.

Or, you could get a USB wifi adapter to get online, then install all of the drivers once you are online. Here is a USB adapter you could get, and it's under $10:
