I understand full well the difference between a clone and an image. I'm using both terms just to cover the basis. It was said that Macrium can create an image file of a drive and that file can be taken to another computer and open/viewed without the use of additional software. Including Macrium. So I said, okay, show/tell me how. Because I don't see a way to do that and Macrium's documentation doesn't say anything about being able to do it either.
I'm not trying to be a smart aleck here but, is English not your first language? That could be one reason why you are having comprehension issues.
If you truly understood the difference between a clone and an image (which you have repeatedly made clear you don't), you wouldn't confuse the issue by using the terms interchangeably. Using clone and image interchangeably is the same as using potato and kumquat interchangeably. Just because the same software is used to create both clones and images doesn't mean they both the same thing or can be used the same way.
Also, at no point did anyone here say an image made with Macrium Reflect can be "open/viewed" without the use of additional software.
It sounds to me that you are looking for a "dumb Terminal" solution to a business where the software runs on a server and remote client systems access the software.
These types of system are still available although they are thought of as old fashioned,
If this is the type of system you require you will need to contact your local Microsoft certified reseller, who will be able to advise you on the availability of the software, what hardware you require and what Server and client volume licence plan you will need to purchase,.
This sort of system is usually sold on a per seat basis so you would need a server licence covering the maximum number of users that will be using the software at any one time, you will also need the number of client software and licence packages for the number of systems that you wish to be capable of system access.
It's possible to have more client system licences than are allowed to run on the server, but only the number of server based licenses will actually run
If I may ask, what's the BIG DEAL with no additional software? This requirement makes it unnecessarily difficult to accomplish a simple task?
Snick, I think the big deal is that OP's clients do not want a learning curve on a 3rd party program -- that's my guess.
