I would like to make a RS point on Startup, and when a new program is installed/uninstalled.

What method did you use to copy from your HDD to your SSD? If you did a full image backup of the HDD with an aftermarket backup program such as Macrium Reflect Free, then restored that image to the SSD, then everything, including the Windows restore points, will be on the SSD.

My thought is that the restore points didn't get backed up from the HDD and then restored to the SSD.

You can do new restore points now by turning on that feature; but it sounds like you have lost the old ones.

Am I correctly understanding your question?

    1. I replaced both my Master & Slave drives, and the store where I bought them did the backup/transfer (not sure how they did it?).
    2. I Googled, and Finally got Restore Points working-
Started Volume Shadow Copy Service/Manual (has files..., Restore Points uses.

Here is an excellent explanation of one way you can set up Windows to automatically create a restore point whenever you start Windows:

I don't think there is a way to auto-create a restore point whenever a program is installed/uninstalled. I believe you'll need to do it manually in those cases. Also, it would be a good idea to do a restore point both before and after running Windows updates, in case an update causes a problem for your computer.

Keep in mind that restore points take up some space. (I don't think they take up a huge amount.) Therefore, you may want to delete the oldest restore points from time to time.

Mr.Jim, there are a few work-arounds, one example: Revo Uninstaller can be used as an Installer -- and I think it can be set to automatically create a restore point before an installation is run. Because I've not used Revo in that way, others can correct me if my assumption is wrong.
