    Windows 7 Backup Doesn't Finish

I am trying to backup my system onto an external hard drive using the Windows 7 backup facility. It never finished, and I get an error message "The last backup did not complete successfully".

There is plenty of space on my external hard drive. I tried it with my anti-virus program running and with it disabled, but it still doesn't complete the backup.

What do I have to do?

    Hi Aerophil,

I don't know if this is an option for you, but, AOMEI Backupper Standard [FREE] is very good. I have never had a problem with creating or restoring images. It might be worth consideration! AOMEI Backupper Standard

Another good one which a lot of members use is Macrium Reflect [FREE]! Macrium Reflect 7 - Free Edition

    I hope this helps!

I tried using Macrium Reflect and it said I had to disable the anti-virus program, which I did, and it still didn't work. I will try AOMEI Backupper Standard and see if it works.

    Thanks,

I am running AOMEI Backupper and it seems to be working without disabling the anti-virus program.

    Thanks,

I have never had to disable the Anti-Virus whenever I have used it.
I am glad it works for you!
