Options possible for Win 7 as a back up....?

Several months ago I upgraded from Win 7 to Ultimate and all OK, however it's slowed down quite a lot lately and wondering what the best options are as I'll always need it as a back up to Win 10 in case of any problems.

As I've just finished a "Fresh Start" update to Win 10 which has seen a big improvement, is there anything similar available these days to get back to the original Win 7 specs which still has the product key as Ultimate isn't necessary any more ?

A clean install normally makes everything faster the idea is do a clean install the create an image so you can reimage at anytime very quickly

Thanks sounds ideal but never done it before. Have you got a link to a clean install, and presumably image and reimage means repeating the process every so often when it slows down again....?

Not famiiar with all the preparatory stages for all this but knew that saving all my work files onto a USB would be essential. Is there anything else that needs to be saved beforehand as well ?
