Restore backup image to dissimilar hardware

    Hello to all,

I'm preparing to replace motherboard on my computer. I have already created a backup image with Acronis True Image. I have also seen this video tutorial.

I know I'll have to use universal restore option. But as stated in this tutorial I have to have chipset and disk drive controller drivers in order universal boot to restore system properly.
I have driver installation CD that is shipped together with motherboard, so chipset drivers are not a problem.

I know from previous experience that this type of restore usually ends with BSOD because windows cannot find drivers for disk drive and it is not able to boot.
The question is where to find these drivers?

As far as I know, these drivers were installed during windows 7 installation. Motherboard CD contains chipset, network card and audio drivers, but not (explicit) disk drive drivers.

In my current PC Windows 7 is installed on ASUS A8N SLI mobo. The HDD is WD 250 GB. I want to replace this motherboard with Gigabyte GA-H81M-S1.

So, the real question is where to find HDD drivers that are mentioned in above mentioned video tutorial that was created by Acronis itself.

    Thank you for your help.

If I understand you correctly, you can obtain all the drivers [MOBO, Chipset, LAN, Ethernet, Graphics, Audio, HDD] that you need from the manufacturers websites [ASUS and WD].

    I hope this helps!

Yes. New Mobo has integrated nic and audio and themdrivers are delivered on the same installation cd with chipset drives. I think that problem would be so called disk drive controller driver. I,don't know where to obtain this driver. In above mentioned video at 3:45 it is said that mass storage drivers need to be obtained. I don' t know, where to find them. Are the mass storage drivers produced by hdd manfacturer or by mobo manufacturer?
    Judging by ths thread here:
problem during install win7 missing mass storage driver
Mass storage driver are produced by manufacturer of mobo's chipset!?!
