i put a windows 7 OS hard drive into an enclosure and now want to...
Ok So long story short, my laptop running an updated windows 7 64 bit (updated from windows vista 64 bit) died yesterday morning.
So I had to buy a new laptop but this one is running windows 10 64 bit (HP 15-db0011dx)
When I plugged in the enclosure containing the windows 7 OS hard drive to the new laptop running windows 10, i couldn't open the home folder in the windows 7 to get to the desktop where all the application short cuts were. It asked to give it permanent permission, but it never did work. but after a couple of reboots, it finally gave me access to the home folder today.

So I checked if any of the application on the windows 7 hard drive was run-able on windpows 10 off the enclosure
So I double clicked on virtualdub which is an application installed on windows 7 hard drive but not on windows 10, it started up as if it was a new install, but all the old plug in for the application was there.
And when I double clicked on musecore 2 whichis also an application on my wondows 7 but not on windows 10, it worked fine.
But then adobe after effects installed on windows 7 hard drive and was working fine on it, did not load at all from windows 10 off the enclosure.
So I guess my question is how do I set up this enclosure such that I can run the application that were installed on my windows 7 off the enclosure from windows 10 laptop which the enclosure is plugged into via usb?
Is there a name for this process? someone suggested sysprep and I'm very confused.
Any help is most welcome.
