Zipped a folder, then upzipped it to test it, and files are missing

Tree Comp is a cool program. I've added it to my arsenal.

Question if you're familiar with Karen: I ran a first-time full backup, looks ok. Then I checked "Copy files..." and "Compare time..." boxes (attached), thinking it'll be a differential, but it runs as if it's a full. Is there an archive bit somewhere I'm not resetting? What am I not getting about how to run a differential?

There's a setting that asks if you want to copy only files that have changed or been added: "http://postimg.cc/2bmrngfg" without the quotation marks (My folder is called Waterfox BU=Waterfox profile Backup)

There's a Help file in the program at the bottom. I wouldn't use this program for a full backup because there's no compression of the image. And I would try it first on a few folders that aren't vital.

Yep, I checked those boxes (see my attachment) but it's running at the same speed as the initial full backup when the boxes weren't checked.

Check the folder at the end to see what it did. This program runs with Windows, so it's not going to be as fast as an imaging program that runs outside Windows. You might want to do the backups after you go to bed.

Ah, ok. I thought it was as fast as an archive bit scan.

It might not be suitable for huge folders on a huge drive. My C+D partitions use only 110 GB. You decide.

    Question on Karen:

FULL BU works fine, DIFF (changed) BU works fine, it copies only the files that have changed. But while the DIFF runs, I notice it's copying a lot of files, more than the files that changed. But, when it completes, I'm not seeing any copies in the destination folder, so it looks like the "copy only changed files" is working as designed.

Why do you suppose it's "copying" all those files, unless its' just reading them for the archive bit but not really copying them? If I check the properties of the entire destination folder, it does show the archive is checked. Should I clear it? Thanks
