Hello Everyone, restore issue on outdated commercial program

Hi you guys were highly recommended by a trusted friend.
i have a POS, point of sale 7 program for a restaurant, the company that altered a 7 program in and out of business, once for a year they did not even exist, any case I know I need to make a "image" of the program, and use when it goes down, but for now I just wanna get it up and running, I can call a another company in India, for a fortune or maybe the original company has been bought out again, and has guys who know it was a problematic program, I never know till I call, I am tired of this circle of cost and down time that shuts my life support off to run my restaurant. I will post some pics, and show you whats up, the program shuts off restore points so you can not do a restore point, and many other things that make you call free lancers who often want 200.00 bucks to do 1 minute of work, Real world- then my employees suffer for lack bonus's etc, like I said real world.

So I will post these pics I get on screen, and ask for help here, which will even extend to how families eat who work for me. I am one of the lucky one's, I can still sell carry out food, but must get this comp to work.

BE careful out there, be safe, send love everywhere.

    thanks

We recommend backup programs, AOMEI Backupper Free and Macrium Reflect Free. My experience with restore points, when I needed to use them they don't work! Love Microsoft, just not their backup and restore!

    Hi

please note, this cash register computer has been off line a long time, cause the vender goes in and out of business all the time. So now it is updating tons of "Updates" from MS (I hope and prey) about every ten minutes.

To use this machine, it does not need to be net connected, at one point I was told by a scalper "Some Body" was bugging the program by net connection so it would need repair, I am just repeating what I was told, it may of course not be true, but the scalper said it would be best if I "un net-ed" the machine, so i did and only oddly of course, it stopped breaking down, plus I needed to drop the net service , after paying the guy 180.00 to fix it on line in 2 minutes. Back when it was on line--- once it cost 1100.00 in a year to get little fixes from odd net repair people. cause the company was out of business, then they got bought up again. its been a real journey

    Hi Latty

Embedded is a bit unusual for this forum, and in reality EVERYTHING should be backed up before any changes are made. As Snick said create a non MS backup before you do anything we propose.
I would suggest something in the region of 32GB+ so that incremental backups can be made.

As Embedded is generally used OFF-LINE those updates could take a while, depending on how many there are.

There are a number of ways to dissable Restore points, the BSOD report that Snick referred to will help

    Gentlemen Thank You

Do be advised, I understand very little of the initialed acronyms. If I am understanding you, you want me to back up the machine even though it isn't fixed.

By back up, you mean make a restore point or get a complete image of my hard drive?

This is crazy, that Blue screen of death only shows for about 5 seconds then the machine restarts. How do I get it to stop in that position so that i can work with it?

P.S. I suspect I have not a hard drive but a solid state drive. This computer has 132gb, this last part I'm very sure of, and in order to get it fixed once, I had to send it off and have the drive installed with more room then I could ever need.

Thank you guys very much, you guys are incredible

We are here to help less computer savvy individuals, or more computer literate individuals that have problems beyond their current understanding.

To fix your BSOD boot loop please read and follow

How to Run a Startup Repair in Windows 7

If you have any questions, yes, we're here for you!

It is always prudent & recommended to backup your system in the event that you make a mistake and your computer won't boot whatsoever. I've been there, done that, as most of us have!

Read blue text in my footer please!

We recommend that you backup (full/complete image of your hard drive) your system to an external hard drive, or if you don't have one, backup to your current drive. Obviously you have to have enough disk space on your drive for the backup.

We recommend AOMEI Backupper Free or Macrium Reflect Free, I prefer recommending AOMEI as it is easier to use. The GUI (Graphical User Interface) is less daunting, in my opinion. Both are free and do what you need, backups, full, incremental, differential, integrity check, etc.
